Omaha Family Law Attorney

Nebraska Family Law Representation

I have been representing clients in divorce and family law matters for nearly 30 years. In that time, I have come to understand that many of my clients do not want a long, drawn-out courtroom battle filled with drama. Although I do fight for my clients' rights in the courtroom when necessary, most of my clients prefer an approach that protects their rights while helping them through the divorce process as efficiently as possible, so they can finalize the divorce and move forward with their lives.

At my Omaha family law firm, my staff and I focus on taking care of our clients' needs. I return phone calls quickly and always keep the lines of communication open. My clients find that my assistant, Deb, and I take time with my clients to make sure they get the answers they need and know what is happening in their cases.

With nearly 30 years of experience as an attorney handling divorces in Nebraska, I am able to guide my clients through the divorce process smoothly and efficiently. In most cases, my main focus is helping move things along while protecting my clients' interests, so that they can finalize their divorces and move forward with their lives. I have a wealth of experience helping clients divide assets in an efficient and effective manner, while helping them through all of the issues that arise in a divorce, including:

  • Child custody: Custody of the children is one of the most important issues for most divorcing couples. I can help you work out a parenting plan with your spouse that will be in the best interests of your child(ren) and will serve your needs. Often times, custody is a disputed issue. I have tried numerous custody cases over the years and will zealously represent your interests in Court.
  • Child support: I have worked extensively with the Nebraska Child Support Guidelines. I understand how to maximize the nuances of the Guidelines and work with the complexities of self-employed individuals when it comes to determining the amount of child support that will be required.
  • Paternity: Paternity is an important issue for both the mother and the father. The mother or the father of a minor child can bring a paternity action. The State of Nebraska can, on behalf of the minor child, also bring a paternity action against the father seeking support. This will occur when the mother is receiving state aid.
